# Monika Žáková

> Monika Žáková (b. 1987, Prague) is a Czech contemporary painter and graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Her precise, minimalist, meditative work explores relationships between materials (canvas, cotton, paper, aluminum, metal, plaster), combining painting with reliefs and layers of colour and light. She has exhibited across Europe, Asia and North America.
